Skanderani is Ahmed Moussa, a songwriter and producer with mixed roots between Spain and Egypt. When singing he goes jangle-indie-dance-pop (Perapertú, Moaddib), but when producing he falls into the vices and sins of the low-fi Afrophilia with krauti evocations. Skanderani’s sound results from applying a rigid scheme of limited crusty sounds, forcing an evil but so enjoyable afro-balkan rhythm. Shall this 5-track collection under the name of “Bastard Jingles” bring more mysterious sonic tales. Hail to Skanderani!
